You are bidding on an Aeroflex 3500A Portable Radio Communications Test Set with Options 01 (Spectrum Analyzer), 10 (Oscilloscope), 70 (Tracking Generator), 100 (P25) and 200 (DMR) installed. It will arrive with a fresh calibration performed by the manufacturer (now Viavi).  All standard accessories shown are included
A Radio Test Set that can be used anywhere.  Featuring full radio test set features, with up to 7 hours of battery life, the Aeroflex 3500A is ready to be used anywhere. The 3500A is perfect for testing AM and FM radio transceivers, whether on a bench, installed in a vehicle, or in some remote location. It also has the power to test the cables and antennas, making it the only hand-held radio test set that can test all the components of an installed radio system.

Spectrum Analyzer Option:
With the spectrum analyzer option, users of the 3500A can look at the RF signal from the radio under tested or find possible interferers at their base station or repeater site. An effective resolution bandwidth that goes down to 19 Hz, together with a low noise figure enables the 3500 to have a noise floor that easily exceeds the specification of < -136 dBm.
Oscilloscope Option:
The oscilloscope option allows users of the 3500A the capability to observe the audio signal from the radio being tested or the demodulated audio from the RF signal received. The 3500A oscilloscope includes markers that the user can use to help analyze the audio signal.
Field Test 6 Software from Survey Technologies Inc:
In addition to the features that are part of a radio test set, the 3500A will also support Survey Technologies Field Test 6 Software. Users of the 3500A series can improve and automate the acquisition, analysis and display of signal strength across a given terrain, as well as inside buildings. Field Test 6 has expanded the drive-test measurement concept to include indoor measurement and analysis for applications where GPS is not available.
One port measurement of Distance to Fault, VSWR, Return Loss, or Cable loss:
The 3500A Radio Test Set can measure and graphically display Distance to Fault, VSWR, return loss and cable loss. The VSWR, return loss, and cable loss are displayed on a graph that shows the respective values of these measurements versus frequency. The Distance to Fault (DTF) is displayed on a graph that shows the return loss versus distance. With these four measurements, a complete analysis can be done on the cabling and antenna of a radio system.
Perfect for Over-the-Air Testing:
Design for portable operation, the 3500A is ideal for performing over the air testing of installed radios. By utilizing over the air testing techniques, a radio installed in a vehicle or a remote site can be tested, without making a direct connection. A handset is included to help make voice quality measurements of the transmitter and receiver.
Benchtop type tests allow the 3500A to go further than simple go/no go testing: With the 3500A as your test tool, you have the capability to go past simple go/no go testing. The transmitter and receiver test screens include meters to measure transmitter parameters such as power, frequency and modulation. The receiver test screen includes meters to measure receiver sensitivity (SINAD) and audio distortion. The 3500A even includes two audio generators that can be used either at baseband or to modulate the transmitter. In addition, a DCS or DTMF generator are available as a modulation source. All of these features combine to make the 3500A a complete radio test set for FM and AM radio transceivers.
This unit is in excellent condition, has been fully tested and is guaranteed functional. It comes w/ a 14 day right of return should it not perform to your expectations. Please review pics and text carefully before bidding to verify accuracy of description. If you don't see it in the pictures, it is not included.

Buyers are required to notify us immediately if an instrument arrives damaged, and must keep all boxes and packing materials in case a UPS damage inspection is necessary. An extended warranty of 30 days is available for all direct purchases from Spaulding Surplus, LLC and established customers purchasing directly may qualify for net 30 payment terms with PO required prior to shipment.

PO's and purchases cancelled due to insufficient instrument capability, buyer's remorse or loss of order are always subject to a 20% restocking fee.
