OnePlus is set to supercharge its next flagship, the OnePlus 13, by adding a massive 6000mAh carbon-silicon battery, a jump up from the 5400mAh battery in the OnePlus 12. Alongside this bigger battery, the OnePlus 13 is expected to retain the same impressive 100W SuperVOOC fast charging and 50W wireless charging seen in its predecessor, but it’s adding a new magnetic wireless charging feature, which could add more convenience for users. Additionally, OnePlus has revealed plans for a 120W dual-port GaN charger, claiming it can power the OnePlus 13 to 100 per cent in just 36 minutes, making sure you’re back in action faster than ever.
To make charging even more flexible, the OnePlus 13 will reportedly support the 100W UFCS fusion fast-charging protocol, allowing third-party chargers to deliver fast charging too. To maximize efficiency, OnePlus will also incorporate its proprietary SUPERVOOC S chip, which promises a 99.5% discharge efficiency for a longer-lasting charge. This aligns with OnePlus’s vision of reliable battery life and speed, especially with new accessories like magnetic protective cases, a magnetic charger, and a 5000mAh magnetic power bank that works with both Android and Apple devices.
All we know about the OnePlus 13 so far
Beyond battery power, the OnePlus 13 will bring significant upgrades over its predecessor. The standout feature? It’s expected to run on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, rumored to be revealed at the Snapdragon Summit on October 22. This new processor, once dubbed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, is expected to feature the advanced Oryon cores designed to deliver faster speeds and better power efficiency. This means smoother performance for multitasking and gaming, which could make the OnePlus 13 one of the fastest Androids in its class. If OnePlus times it right, the OnePlus 13 could even be the first device to showcase Qualcomm’s new chip, potentially beating other brands like Xiaomi and Oppo.
The rumored 6000mAh battery is expected to provide longer usage times compared to the 5400mAh found in the OnePlus 12. This increased battery capacity paired with the new Snapdragon chip could mean a day’s worth of use on a single charge for heavy users. This is great news for those who depend on their phones for extended screen time, be it for work or play.
Finally, OnePlus is set to debut an ecosystem of magnetic accessories alongside the OnePlus 13, including cases and a compact magnetic power bank compatible with both Apple and Android devices. All in all, the OnePlus 13 is shaping up to be a powerful blend of top-notch performance, innovative charging options, and a substantial battery to keep up with it all. With a focus on speed and efficiency, it looks like OnePlus fans are in for a treat.
As the official launch date approaches, more information is bound to come out, so stay tuned for updates on what might just be one of OnePlus’s most exciting launches yet.
